VCA JK conducts trial match for selection of 40+ World Cup Indian team

JAMMU, July 2: Veteran Cricket Association (VCA) JK today conducted a trial match of 40+ category for shortlisting players for upcoming 40+ World Cup which is going to be held in March 2024 at South Africa.
The Match was played between VCA JK Blues and VCA JK Red at M A stadium Jammu. Team VCA JK Blue won the toss and elected to bat first and posted 186/10 in 34.5 overs.
Deepak Pandita 38, Karan 23, Deepak Jamwal 14 and Shotu 21 were the top scorers. For VCA JK Red, Sachin and Sunny took 2 wickets each while Rajesh Gill, Daney, Arun, Narotam, Pawan and Vijay scalped 1 wicket each.
In reply, Team VCA JK Red chased the target of 187 in just 30.1 overs by loosing 7 wickets. Rajesh Gill scored 60 runs, Madan 38, Puneet Watal 26 and Balwinder 24. ForVCA JK Blue, Ankush Gupta took 2 wickets while Avinash Uttam, Deepak, Pritpal Singh, Jagdev Singh and Koushal scalped 1 wicket each.
Rajesh Gill, who scored unbeaten 60 and took 1 wicket, was declared as man of the match.
The selection matches are being organized under the guidance of Arun Gupta (president, Veterans Cricket Association Jammu).
