KPS honours meritorious students

JAMMU, July 8: The Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS) held 13th consecutive function here, today to honour the topper students of the KP community who have cleared the class 12th exams both from the CBSE and JK BOSE this year.
Students who have scored above 93% marks were awarded a certificate along with a memento and cash prize. Kavinder Gupta former Deputy Chief Minister was the chief guest on the occasion while Sanjeeta Dogra president Women Wing BJP who along with the Sabha president K. K. Khosa gave away the awards to the toppers was the guest of honour.
Eighteen students namely Sahaj Malla (97.80%), Tushar Bhat (97.20%), Shradha Raina (97.00%), Heeya Pandita (97%), Diksha Raina (96.80%), Suparsh Pandita (96.80%), Ujwal Kitchloo (96.80%), Akansha Bhasin (96.40%), Himakshi Vinay (96.20%), Argh Raina (96%), Riya Razdan (95.20%), Ayushi Bindroo (95.00%), Aman Bhat (94.60%), Ritish Pandita (94.40%), Khushi Pandita (94%), Bhumi Bhat (93.80%), Shradha Zutshi (93.80%) and Reyansh Sidha (93.60%) were honoured
While congratulating the students president, KPS, K K Khosa advised them that being toppers they had added responsibility towards the community as well as the society. He urged the students to remember their duties towards the UT of J&K and join such streams which could enable them to remain in the UT especially in the Valley where comparative peace has returned. Students can look for opportunities in higher education and research where there are opportunities of gainful employment within the UT, he added.
Kavinder Gupta congratulated the students and their parents for their glorious success. He said that besides making their parents proud you have to make a State and country also proud. He stressed that children are the torch bearers of this nation and have to strive hard to find and compete at national and international level and glorify both their parents and nation as well.
Sangeeta Dogra stressed that KPs has always shown the academic excellence from times immoral and created a niche at national and international level for them. She advised the students that though they might go to different places in search of higher education and jobs yet they should be in touch with their parents.
The vote of thanks was delivered by G J Kampasi while as the programme was conducted by Dr Sujata Sathoo.
