CHANDIGARH, July 13: A three day Power-grid Inter-Regional Carrom tournament-2023 commenced today at Hotel Novotel, Chandigarh.
Eleven teams from various regions of Power-grid are participating in this tournament. The participating teams are from Southern Region-I (SR-I), Southern Region-II (SR-II), Eastern Region-I (ER-I), Eastern Region-II(ER-II), Western Region-I(WR-I), Western Region-II(WR-II), North Eastern Region (NER), Northern Region-I(NR-I), Northern Region-III (NR-III),Corporate Centre (CC) and the host region Northern Region-II(NR-II).
The matches in the tournament have been conducted on league cum knockout basis and during the three day tournament; the participating teams will fight it out in team, doubles and single championship in both male and female categories.
The tournament was inaugurated by Rajesh Kumar, Executive Director (NRTS-II) in the presence of A.H. Khan, GM (Haryana), Vinod P Baxla, General Manager (HR) and other officials of Power-grid and Chandigarh Carrom Association. The tournament is being conducted under the supervision of Carrom Association of Chandigarh. The matches were being played under the team championship with teams from WR-I, CC, SR-I and SR-II leading in female and NER.WR-II, ER-II and NR-III leading in male categories.
