RAJOURI, July 14: A poor family of Mohammad Amin from village Dassal in Ward No 1 suffered loss after a leopard attacked and killed his several goats and sheep.
Locals said that a leopard entered the cattle shed of Mohammad Amin, resident of the village Dassal in district Rajouri last night. In the incident sheep and goats were mauled to death by the leopard.
Before this also, a number of times leopard has killed goats and sheep in the area as till now 16 goats and sheep are killed. Locals of the area have appealed to the administration to provide necessary assistance to the victim’s family. Locals appealed the District Administration and Wild Life Department that a proper search must be conducted in the area as this wild beast has created panic in the area and killing livestock frequently. SHO Rajouri Inspector Shoket Hussain reached the spot and told locals to take precautionary measures to save them from wild animal.
