Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Dec 16: Joint Action Committee (JAC) of people of Gole Gujral Talab Tillo Jammu and adjoining areas along with the activists of RTI Sangarsh Movement today reiterated their demand of immediate eviction of people who have encroached the JDA land near Revenue Complex Gole Gujral.
Talking to reporters here this afternoon S Inderpal Singh, Sarpanch Gole Gujral, Chaman Lal ex Corporator,  Balwinder Singh convener Sangarsh RTI Movement and others criticized the administration in enforcing the eviction orders issued by Minister of Housing and Urban Development Nawang Rigzin Jora.
They said it is surprising that the administration was in league with these encroachers and orders were issued by Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu to various officers in providing power, water and other facilities to the people who have grabbed the JDA land at Gole Gujral.
Balwinder Singh displaced an order copy signed by additional District Development Commissioner Jammu vice her office r letter No 782-88 dated 12/01/2012 where directions have been issued to the Chief Engineer PDD and Chief Engineer PHE to provide water and electricity connections to the encroachers on priority basis.
According to Mr Singh, the letter says that DC Jammu should legalise the colony and issue PRCs at the address of encroachers, said Mr Singh. The Director CAPD was asked to supply ration to them while Director Social Welfare was asked to open Anganwadi centres besides providing other benefits to the people in area and Director Education was asked to open primary schools there, he added.
The Joint Action Committee also accused the State Government trying to bury the issue by merely attaching the patwari and while the powerful persons in the administration were protecting the land mafia. They said on the behest of some influential persons who were brain behind the encroachment of this land the patwari was not transferred from the area for last 10 years.
The JAC demanded a judicial probe into the matter. It also wanted to know that why land transferred to JDA was not demarcated which was meant for the people belonging to economically weaker sections of the society. They also demanded that entire Government land from Gole Nayabat be identified and be freed from the encroachers.
