District Srinagar Throwball Championship-2023 concludes

Srinagar, July 19: The District Srinagar Throwball Championship, a thrilling two-day event organized by the District Srinagar Throwball Association in collaboration with Government Girls Higher Secondary School Khanyar, came to a grand conclusion today. The championship was conducted under the auspices of the J&K Throwball Association.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over a hundred talented individuals representing various institutions, colleges, and clubs. Competing in different age categories, including Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior Men/Women, the participants showcased their skills and sportsmanship.
The closing ceremony was graced by Seema Jan, Vice Principal of GHSS Khanyar, who presided as the chief guest. Shazia Abbass, a prominent Physical Education Lecturer (PEL), and Rouf Ahmad Khan, a distinguished Physical Education Master (PEM), were among the guests of honour present on the occasion.
The championship witnessed intense matches filled with excitement and determination. In the boys’ and girls’ junior categories, Oak Hill Educational Institute emerged victorious, wining the championship title.
They achieved this feat by defeating tough opponents such as Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute and CMP School. Their exceptional performance and teamwork propelled them to the top.
Meanwhile, in the senior categories, Hussaini Sports Club displayed their remarkable skills and dominance, clinching the championship titles in both the men’s and women’s divisions.
Additionally, the J&K Throwball Association took the opportunity to conduct selection trials during the championship. These trials aimed to identify the most talented individuals who would represent the region at the upcoming Junior National Throwball Championship 2023 set to be held in Tamil Nadu.
