JAMMU, Dec 18: Despite lapse of over 24 hours, no break through has been achieved by the police in the bizarre murder of the seven year old in Chatha area.
Police team and Forensic experts today visited the site to collect the clues. From the spot, empty few liquor bottles were recovered.
However, as per medical reports, no unnatural offence had taken place with the boy.
As reported, seven year old Akhil Kumar alias Pinky, son of Ramesh Lal of Khandwal, Chatha went missing after he went for tuition.
His body was recovered by police from the fields in the Khandwal area in mutilated condition with one eye gouged out and cut marks on hands and neck.
The body was spotted by a local of the area who informed the police after which a police contingent rushed to the site and took it into its custody and shifted the body to GMC Hospital for completing legal formalities.
The boy was cremated today after Board of Doctors conducted post-mortem on the body.
Once again the incident has raised a question mark over the safety of the common man as in June 2010 similar sort of incident had taken place in the same zone in which a class 5th student namely Shalin Gupta was kidnapped and brutally murdered in the Belicharana area.
