JAMMU, Dec 20: NC Minority Cell in its meeting chaired by its working president M K Yogi has urged the Government to settle the pending demands of the displaced people.
Mr Yogi said that NC led by Omar Abdullah has taken various steps in settling the demands of the migrants in a time frame manner and cited the example of initiative taken by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in implementation of PM’s job package for migrants.
He criticized those organizations and leaders who had expressed apprehensions about the Government’s policies towards the migrants.
Yogi demanded that the immediate steps needed to be taken for construction of shops for migrants at Jagti and other camps. He demanded that no allotment be made without verification at Jagti and deserving people be given preference.
The Cell also made an appeal to Chief Minister to bring the Lok Ayukta Bill in the State to eradicate corruption.
Yogi also urged the Relief Commissioner to pursue the demands before the Government at an earliest for their settlement.
P L Talashi, Karan Chowdhary, Ashwani Bhat, B K Bhat, Pinky Bhat, S N Dharm Ramesh Bharti, Bittoo Ji Bhat and Jigan Ji Goja were present in the meeting.
Meanwhile, Ashok Hangloo another leader of the Cell has expressed grave concern over the problems being faced by migrants at TRT Nagrota and demanded bettering of the facilities. He demanded renovation of the road to camp school and bettering of water supply with construction of shopping complex in TRT.
