JAMMU Dec 21: Saying that truth has ultimately triumphed, Provincial president National Conference Devender Singh Rana on Saturday complimented the people of Kishtwar for demonstrating high degree of political maturity and resilience in helping to bring out the facts with regard to unfortunate August disturbances to fore.
Welcoming Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo, Minister of State for Home at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan, after his re-induction into the Omar Abdullah led Government, Mr Rana said the findings of the probe have exposed the Bharatya Janata Party and Peoples Democratic Party which worked overtime to weave a cobweb against the National Conference. “Notwithstanding their mischievous tactics, the truth has prevailed”, he maintained.
After re-induction as Minister, Mr Kitchloo straightway drove to party headquarters where he was profusely greeted by the senior leaders and workers, which included MLA and Central Secretary Th. Rachpal Singh, MLA Aijaz Jan, MLA, Abdul Gani Malik, MLA, Bimla Luthra, MLC Dr. Shenaz Ganai,  MLC Master Noor Hussain, former Ministers Harban Singh, Pt. Govind Ram Sharma, Peer Mushtaq Ahmad Bukhari, Babu Ram Pal, Jagjeevan Lal, Sr. Vice President Rattan Lal Gupta , Provincial Secretary Sheikh Bashir Ahmad, ex- Legislators Brij Mohan Sharma, Th. Kashmir Singh, Haji Mohammad Hussain, Satpal Lakhotra and others.
“The communal and opportunistic forces made a sinister combination to defame National Conference in the wake of unfortunate incidents”, Mr Rana said while assailing the PDP and BJP for fuelling the situation rather than dousing it just to derive political mileage. However, he said, the people of Kishtwar, irrespective of their religious affiliations gave a befitting jolt to these power hungry organisations, not only by maintaining unity but also helping the administration to restore peace and tranquillity that has been the benchmark of this state.
Mr Rana particularly lauded Mr Kitchloo for leaving an indelible mark of moral strength by stepping down in order to come out clean of the false and mischievous allegations levelled by motivated political forces. He congratulated Mr Kitchloo and hoped that he will continue to serve his people and the people of Jammu and Kashmir with determination.
The Provincial President said that the political sagacity shown by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in ordering the judicial probe is an eye opener for those who keep hiding their sins under the foggy screen. “We really feel elevated to see our sincere colleague emerging clean from the ugly situation created by the political opponents”, he added
Responding to the solidarity shown by party cadre during most testing times, Mr Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo said this was the real strength which made him to face the situation with courage. “I had full faith in my people and the justice system and I am vindicated”, an emotionally charged Minister said.
