SPMR holds painting cum poster making competition

JAMMU, Aug 11: A painting cum poster making competition was organised at SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu under ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ initiative here today.
The department of English and Commerce under the initiative of IQAC organized poster cum painting competition on the theme ‘Nation First, Always First’ to commemorate 77th Independence Day under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and under the supervision of Principal and patron Dr Surinder Kumar.
Principal, Dr Surinder Kumar said, “Students of today are the future of the country and our loyalty to our nation will make our nation great and progressive. We all as a citizen should try every bit to raise our country at the global level.”
During the event, the students of various semesters and streams enthusiastically showcased their talents by making colourful posters, depicting glory of the nation. The students who participated in the competition are Suhani, Palvi, Rashmi Sharma, Navdeep Kour and Simran Varsha.
Later, a tiranga rally was also flagged off by the Principal from the college campus towards Canal head. All the faculty members NSS volunteers and NCC volunteers participated by holding Tiranga in their hands and raised the slogans ‘Nation first Always First’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.
The faculty members present on the occasion were Prof. Barbara Kaul, Prof Savita Jamwal, Prof. Shafqat Jahangir, Dr. Monika Malhotra, Dr Sandhya Bhardwaj, Prof. Ashu Manhas, Prof. Deepshikha Sharma, Dr. Fayzaz, Prof. Shreya, Prof Rajni Bala, Dr. Roomi Rani, Dr. Sarabjeet, Dr. Jagmeet, Prof Apfan Ali and Malik Aijaz.
The whole programme was coordinated by Prof Barbara Kaul, Dr. Monika Malhotra, Prof Savita Jamwal and NSS PO’s of the college Prof Deepshikha Sharma and Prof Apfan Ali.
