Heritage School holds workshop on ‘Gender Sensitivity’

JAMMU, Aug 12: Heritage School Jammu conducted an enlightening workshop on ‘Gender Sensitivity’ for the teaching staff here today. The event aimed to enhance awareness of gender-related issues and foster inclusivity in the learning environment.
Principal, Akash Pradhan, welcomed the resource person, Dr. Surbhi Sharma, a distinguished expert in the field of gender studies and child psychology. The workshop covered a wide range of topics, including gender stereotypes, gender equality, promoting diversity, creating gender-sensitive curricula and teaching practices, tools and strategies to recognize and eliminate gender biases, ensuring a supportive and respectful atmosphere for students of all genders.
During the workshop open discussions and interactive activities were also held to enhance participants’ understanding and awareness.
Vice-Principal, Rashmi Thakur, expressed gratitude to Dr. Sharma for her enlightening insights and to the teachers for their active participation. She said by hosting such workshops, Heritage School takes significant strides in creating an equitable and empathetic community.
