JAMMU, Dec 24: Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Jammu is organizing a State Level National Integration Camp (NIC) from December 25 to 29, 2013 in collaboration with the Tourism, Youth Services and Sports, besides district administration here at Nagrota Youth Hostel.
Director General Youth Services and Sports, Navin Aggarwal gave this information in a press conference held here today in this regard.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Shantmanu and Director Tourism Jammu, Soujanya Kumar Sharma were also present during the press conference.
As many as 250 participants (Male & Female) from 10 States of Odisha, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and J&K are participating in the camp.
The main functions during the five day camp include State Level Yuva Kriti, Young artists Camp and Cultural festival.
Other attractions of the camp are handicraft exhibition, young artist camp (painting, sculpture and photography competitions) and folk dance programme.
As part of the Cultural Festival, the participants will perform cultural programmes in GandhiNagar Dussehra Ground, Mubarak Mandi Complex, Army Campus Akhnoor, CRPF Campus Bantalab and Trikuta College of Education, Jammu.
The selected participants will be nominated for National Youth Festival to be held in Ludhiana, Punjab from January 12 to 16, 2014.
The participating youth would also take part in seminars, group discussions, besides a Cultural parade to be taken out in Jammu city. The State Government would also organize site visit to historical places for the youth participants.
The programme will be graced by Ministers, MPs, MLAs and dignitaries of various fields. The participants will be provided to and fro journey expenses free lodging and boarding and certificates of participation.
The main objective of holding the camp is to provide opportunity to the rural youth to showcase their talent and get exposure by exchanging ideas with their counterparts from other States.
