MENDHAR, Dec 26: A large number of villagers from Uchhad and Nabna area today thronged the office of Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) in the town here and held protest demonstration against the CAPD authorities.
These villagers were raising slogans against the CAPD authorities for the scarcity of ration in the area. They alleged that a single Government depot at Uchhad which cater to the needs of three adjoining villages, remains closed and for the last two months no supply of ration has been provided. No inspector or other supervisory staff ever bothers to visit the area and ensure supply to the public.
They also brought the matter to the notice of Tehsildar and SDM. Later, TSO moved to the local depot and got it opened by breaking lock and found stock in the depot. He took up the matter with AD Food Poonch who initiated inquiry into the matter. TSO issued warning to the ration dealer and assured the public to provide another ration outlet in the area.
