Employees gear up for indefinite strike

Srinagar, Dec 26: The agitating State Government employees today threatened to launch an indefinite strike if the Government doesn’t revoke the ESMO slapped on employees.
A statement issued here by Joint Consultative Committee (JCC), an amalgam of several unions, said a meeting was held under the chairmanship of senior JCC leader and president Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC-Q), Abdul Qayoom Wani in which all the employees were appealed to ensure the success of programmes at grass root level to settle the nefarious designs of anti employee.
It also said that the delayed issues include regularization, daily wagers working in different departments, adhoc, contractual seasonal workers, enhancement in retirement  age  by two  years, removal  of pay  anomaly   and  five years  inclusion  in the services of ReT’s,  enhancement in Medical Allowance  and similar  issues   renewed struggle  shall be started  for the solution  of these demands.
It was decided, the statement added,  that  a session of JCC  will be held at Srinagar  to   chalk out the future  strategy which  will be announced  in the next meeting  of  JCC at Jammu.
Those who attended the session include Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam Khursheed Ahmad Bhat, Mohd Afzal Bhat, Haji Bashir Ahmad, Manzoor Ahmad Pampori, Dr. Manzoor Ahmad, Nusrat Ahmad Beigh, Sajad Ahmad Parray, Ghulam Rasool Bhat, Shabir Ahmad Bhat.
