UDHAMPUR, Aug 29: Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 18 animals, which were being smuggled in Canter Truck to Kashmir.
The Canter Truck, bearing registration number JK02AU-9918 was intercepted by a team of Police Post Roun Domail in the wee hours today. During the checking, 16 bovine animals were found loaded in the truck, which was being driven by Ahmed Din, son of Jalal Din, resident of Siral, Tehsil Haweli, District Poonch.
Police arrested the accused driver and rescued all the bovine animals. A case vide FIR number 451/2023, Under Section 188 IPC 11 PCA Act has been registered in this connection at P/S Udhampur.
The Police team was led by SHO Udhampur Insp Raghubir Choudhary and assisted by PSI Rahul Jamwal under the supervision of DySP HQ Gurmeet Singh.
