JAMMU, Dec 28: Defeating their rivals by narrow margins in the semifinal clashes, Trikuta Club and Jammu Blue have entered the finals of the ongoing 17th Jammu District Korfball Championship, organized by J&K Korfball Association, under the aegis of J&K State Sports Council at Green Field No-1 Gandhi Nagar, here.
In the first semifinal, Jammu Blue trounced Jammu Lions by a narrow margin of 2 goals (8-6). The half-time score was (4-3) in favour of Jammu Blue. Irfan Choudhary and Megha were the star performers for the winners, who scored 4 and 3 goals respectively.
In the second semifinal, Trikuta Club drubbed Young Star by a margin of 5 goals (14-9) to qualify for the finals. At half-time, Trikuta Club was leading by (8-5). For Trikuta Club, Aditya and Gagandeep scored 4 goals each, while Tamana scored 3 goals.
Earlier, Jammu Lions defeated Jammu Rural Korfball Club by (11-8), while Evergreen Club outplayed Young Star by (14-9) goals.
The final match will be held at 11 am at the same venue tomorrow.
