RAMBAN, Sept 5: Driver of a truck and his assistant (helper) here today narrowly escaped when their vehicle caught fire.
Police sources informed that a cement laden truck bearing registration number JK02BC-5185 was on its way to Srinagar from Jammu when it caught fire near Maroog on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH) here.
They said that truck driver Jasmeet Singh resident of Jammu parked his vehicle along the road and jumped out of the burning truck along with his assistant.
After sometime police and fire tenders reached the spot and doused the fire.
Traffic remained suspended on the busy NH till the fire was brought under control by Fire and Emergency Department officials.
