KATHUA, Sept 7: To mark Janamashtami celebrations, a Dangal was organized by the local committee of Ward-11 and Ward-12 in district Kathua today where a large number of wrestlers from Jammu and Kashmir participated.
Former Minister Rajeev Jasrotia was the chief guest on this occasion. About 30 bouts were organized during the event. Jasrotia appreciated the Dangal Committee for arranging such a mega event which plays an important role in keeping the youth on the right track and away from drug abuse.
Jasrotia emphasized the need of inculcating the spirit of sportsmanship. He said the event has become a guiding force between people of different regions and provides encouragement to the local wrestlers.
Jasrotia said in today’s era of excessive competition and changing environment, people barely care about our health and have to face its consequences in the later stages of their life. They easily become prey to many life-threatening health issues. Those who are indulged in regular physical activities can easily defend themselves from such diseases.
