POONCH, Sept 8: A JCB, a dumper and four tractor trolleys were seized in Poonch area by the authorities last night.
Official sources said that a police team headed by Insp Deepak Pathania, SHO Poonch and assisted by PSI Sushant Singh under the supervision of Afrat Hussain DySP Hqrs, Poonch conducted an overnight drive in Betar Nullah against illegal mining and seized one JCB machine, one dumper and four Tractor-trolleys.
Vehicles seized include JCB bearing Reg No. JK12C/0661 driven by Bilal Hussain Shah, son of Safdar Hussain Shah from Surankote, dumper bearing Reg No.JK12B/3105, driven by Mohd Zahid, son of Saraj Din from Noona Bandi, Poonch; Tractor-trolley bearing Reg No. JK12A/6718 driven by Basar Iqbal, son of Mohd Sadiq from Khari; Tractor-trolley without number driven by Sayed Ahmed, son of Mohd Akram from Ajote; Tractor-trolley without number driven by Momin Kazmi, son of Shabir Hussain Shah from Gulpur and Tractor-trolley without number driven by Mohd Liaqat, son of Mohd Ayoub from Degwar village in Poonch.
All the vehicles were extracting/carrying minor minerals from Betar Nullah without any valid permission. DMO Poonch was informed accordingly about the seizure, the police said.
