JAMMU, Dec 29: Jammu and Kashmir were in sight of 1st innings lead at 114/6, in reply to Haryana’s paltry total of 143 runs as the day-1 of 4-day match of Cooch Behar Under-19 Boys Cricket Tournament witnessed fall of 16 wickets at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here today.
Earlier, batting first, Haryana bundled out for a paltry total of 143 runs in 45.3 overs on a track which has being exposed for the first time in the season so far. SR Sharma was the top scorer for Haryana, contributing 49 runs off 94 balls including 7 boundaries, while Shamsher Yadav, AKS Chahal and AS Kumar scored 30, 21 and 11 runs respectively. For J&K, Shubam Khajuria and AM Mangnoo scalped 3 wickets each by conceding 15 and 40 runs respectively, while Rohit Sharma bagged 2 and Paras Sharma claimed one.
In reply, J&K were also struggling at 114/6 at the draw of stumps today, yet in sight of the first innings lead, needing 29 runs more to gain a crucial first innings lead, having 4 wickets in hand. Shubam Pundhir and Shubam Khajuria scored 33 and 32 runs respectively. While Pundhir hit 4 delectable boundaries in his knock, Khajuria struck 5 crispy boundaries and a massive six in his innings. At stumps, Hisham Saleem was unbeaten on 31 runs with 4 fours, while Lone Nazir was on two. For Haryana, VV Kalkal took 2 wickets, while Jitender Phogat, AK Chahal and Himanshu Bishnoy claimed one wicket each.
