‘Toka Gang’ busted; 3 held with sharp edged weapons, car

JAMMU, Dec 30: Police today busted “Toka Gang” with the arrest of three criminals and recovery of three sharp edged weapons along with a Maruti car having fake registration number from their possession.
According to police sources, on specific inputs, police party from Gandhi Nagar Police Station laid a naka near Digiana and intercepted a Maruti car.
During checking, police found the registration number of the vehicle fake and subjected the driver and his two colleagues to questioning.
As the trio failed to give satisfactory reply, police arrested all of them, who have been identified as Amit Sharma of district Poonch, Ravi Kumar of village Phinter, Bishnah and Navjot Singh of Gadigarh.
During the search of the car, three sharp-edged weapons “tokas” were recovered.
The accused used to call people on the pretext of giving them fake currency and gold on cheaper rates. As the persons reach to strike the deal, the accused assault them and fled away with the essentials carried by them.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and further investigation into the case is going on.
The arrest was made by police party headed by SHO Rajinder Sharma under the supervision of SP South Rahul Malik.
