Plea to SMVD Shrine Board

The three days annual Shiv-Parvati Mela Moungri, is gaining popularity year by year. Due to pilgrim-visitors heavy influx the human needs are also increasing simultaneously. To this effect I want to bring in the kind notice of Lieutenant Governor UT of J&K Manoj Sinha, who is also chairman of Shree Mata Vaishno Devi Ji (SMVDJ) Shrine Board Katra through this open plea that the basic infrastructural facilities are still lacking at the Aap Shambu Shiva caves Moungri (Distt Udhampur)
Due to non availability of an Inn, the pilgrim -visitors face numerous hardships. They cannot even spend single night here and enjoy the Godly blessings in varied forms scattered all around. Instead, after performing darshans of 9.5 feet high Lord Shiva’s Aap Shambu Bajjar Lingam and paying obeisance at the sacred caves the pilgrim-visitors hasten to opt for return journey. An Inn Provision would not only add charm to the unique and attractive spot but also facilitate immensely the visiting pilgrims. The SMVD Ji Shrine Board under its public welfare scheme(s) should come farward to construct a 100 bedded Inn at Shiva caves Mongri. Besides, the Shrine Board’s Technical Team should also visit and study keenly the Shiva caves spot and Mela site ‘Sar Dabbar’ to prepare a detailed map for the planned development and beautification. Otherwise, the unplanned activities would devastate the natural and fascinating locations.
The other facilities such as toilet/wash room, rain shed at Hawan Kund site, safe/double lane road upto mela site ‘Sar Dabbar’ and here from 500 mts Pucca stairs way upto caves site, revival of lane, view point at ‘Gaj Raj’ hill top etc if provided, the Aap Shambu Shiva caves shrine Moungri would surely emerge as all season pilgrim-tourist spot. A group of few locals some how is managing the cave affairs and arranging 3 days grand annual Shiv Parvati Mela Moungri and Shiv Shakti Trishul yatra in mid May for over years. But due to financial constraints the group is unable to do and deliver here much. On the contrary, the exquisite Shiva caves Moungri and 3 days Mela here is contributing greatly in the preservation and promotion of multifaceted Dogra culture and National character. So, in view of the stated facts if the LG pays his kind attention towards addressing the shortcomings, it would certainly become ‘Aatam Nirbhar’. The basic infrastructural facilities would spur multiple activities at and around the sacred caves shrine and adjoining Mela site ‘Sar Dabbar’. It is hoped that SMVD Ji Shrine Board would open its door for the extremely noble cause.

Keeping Jammu clean
This has reference to the news item ‘JMC fully prepared to tackle dengue malaria’ DE Sept 13, 2023. It would have been in the fitness of things if JMC had started fogging and taken other necessary steps to prevent/ lessen spread of dengue/ mosquitoes before onset of the monsoon season. Though late, still it is welcome. Besides fogging, it is also essential that lanes, drains be repaired and cleaned on everyday basis. The unwanted weeds and grass also be cleaned on urgent basis. Lopping of tree branches is also essential.
We citizens have also great responsibility to keep surroundings clean and not to allow accumulation of stagnant water in tyres etc and throw garbage here and there.
JMC has since started garbage collection and every person should cooperate with JMC to keep Jammu clean city just like people of Indore have done.

Repair Gobind Nagar Gole-Bhagwati Nagar road
This is to draw the attention of concerned Smart City Municipality Department Jammu the road from Gobind Nagar Gole to Bhagwati Nagar is in a dilapidated condition which needs immediate repairs. The road has numerous potholes all along its length.
One can see not only the potholes but also big puddles there which cause damage to the vehicles side by side inconvenience to the motorists. This road is not only used by light vehicles but also by heavy vehicles like trucks, buses, tractor, trollies etc. The problem has been highlighted a number of times by the residents but so far no action has been taken on it.

Plea to Revenue auhorities, Samba
The Revenue Deptt, is considered to be the backbone of a society. And to meet the aspirations of people, the department must be functional in every respect like proper trained staff, and requisite infrastructure. For example the Revenue Department Samba must be reorganised to meet the needs of people here.
Some Patwar/Halqas be divided into two because of the work pertaining to sale/purchase of land, election, voter cards, domicile , ration cards, Kissan credit card, influx of labour, extra burden occasioned by army and para military forces and other verification, the load of Patwaris have almost doubled, as creating of smaller patwar especially the Bagla Bagoona and Samba Khas having 19 villages including Mandiats since each Mandi is having a separate identity as a separate revenue village.
As many officials are holding many charges at a time, they are not in a position to serve people well in time. In speeding up the working process and assessing the effectiveness of officials, the necessary manpower audit does arise.
There are a good number of mutations and allied issues pending for preparation, verification and authentication by the concerned official/officer. To expedite and reduce the number and settlement of issues, the concerned official/officer needs to conduct camps in each village for disposal of the matters which will benefit the people. There is the need to expedite land acquisition cases particularly those involving land transfer to the Army and other department. Disbursement of rent and compensation is pending for a long time.
We hope the concerned authorities would look into the matter at the earliest.

Repair Lane 6, Udeywala
This is to draw the attention of the JMC authorities towards the bad condition of Lane No. 6, Udeywala. This lane has been designed poorly and is a specimen of corruption within the system. The centre drain has not been designed properly and will buckle under heavy vehicles. The bitumen layer laid in May is shoddy, and puddles surface after every down four. This causes great inconvenience to residents here, and it is requested to get it repaired at the earliest.
