JAMMU, Sept 19: Former Minister and BJP vice president, Surjeet Singh Slathia today said that J&K has undergone a huge transformation in the wake of progressive initiatives taken during the past four years.
Addressing public meetings at Gangyal and Kunjwani in the run up to scheduled elections to ULBs, Slathia said that rapid industrialization and infrastructure up-gradation is the preamble for Naya J&K under the dynamic leadership of PM Modi.
He referred to the agenda of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ and said that the BJP is working towards realizing this vision by ending discrimination and ensuring holistic development of all the regions and sub-regions of J&K irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
The BJP leader said their focus has been to usher J&K to a new phase of progress and development with restoration of complete normalcy and peace remaining focal point.
He said that BJP has paved way for the people to have access to all the privileges, rights and facilities available to their fellow citizens across the country after repealing Article 370.
Describing the grassroots level democratic institutions as key to improving civic facilities and the other utilities, Slathia called for massive public participation in elections to streamline the process of decision making as per aspirations of the people.
“This is a huge opportunity to shape the destiny of cities, urban and rural areas by empowering the people in a big way,” he maintained.
