APS Akhnoor hosts English debate competition

JAMMU, Sept 21: Army Public School Akhnoor hosted an Inter-school English debate competition through a virtual window. The topic of the debate was ‘Should Humanity Fear the Advancements of AI’.
The competition witnessed the active participation of 13 schools across Northern States of India included APS Udhampur, APS Srinagar, APS Rakhmuthi, APS Nagrota, APS Dhar Road, APS Leh, APS Mathura, APS Kanpur, APS Talbehat, APS Old Cantt Prayagraj, APS Raiwala APS Almora and APS Akhnoor. Principal APS Akhnoor, Geeta Devi commenced the event with a note of gratitude.
Chief guest on this occasion was Brigadier Rakesh Pachora, Commander 255 (I) Armed Brigade and Chairman Army Public School, Akhnoor. The revenant members of Jury were Sheetal Lalotra (Ph.D English Literature, Faculty at Punjab Engineering College), Inderpal Singh (IT Expert at Oracle USA), Dilip Singh (IRTS Officer from 2013 batch, currently at Nagpur Railway Division) and Meenakshi Manhas (TGT Mathematics, APS Akhnoor -Time Judge) and all the participating schools.
Each speaker from the participating school teams showcased its debating prowess against and for the motion facing a minimum of two interjections by the interjector with respect to the given topic.
Army Public School Akhnoor was declared as winner of the competition. APS Nagrota was declared as runner up. Among all the speakers from different schools, Sonali Dev from APS Akhnoor was declared as the best speaker and Rahini Manrai from APS Akhnoor was chosen as the best interjector
