4 from Doda killed in NH mishap

SRINAGAR, Sept 22: A Doda bound car was hit by a truck on the National Highway near Qazigund today when it was attempting a U-turn leading to the death of four persons from Doda district.
An official said that a Doda bound vehicle bearing registration number JK06B-0901 was hit by a truck near Walnut Factory in Qazigund in district Anantnag on the National Highway.
He said that seven persons were injured in the mishap and out of which four persons later succumbed.
All the people who died in the mishap hailed from Kotli, Kastigarh area of Doda district.
Those who died include Nawaz Bhat, Mubeena Begum, Apsha Banoo and Maroof Mumtaz Bhat son of Mumtaz Ahmed Bhat.
Those injured are Ghulam Qadir, Mehvish Akhter and driver of the vehicle Mumtaz Ahmad Bhat.
Police have registered a case (FIR No. 206/23 U/S 279, 337 IPC) in Police Station Qazigund. Investigations into the incident are going on.
