JAMMU, Oct 6: Police here in Akhnoor area claimed today that they have arrested a drug peddler and recovered 8 grams of heroin from his possession.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Akhnoor Police Station led by SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal Sharma assisted by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq rounded up a suspect at Daskal near Fruit Mandi, Akhnoor.
On search of the accused identified as Sharief Din of Beli Charana, Jammu, he said, 8 grams of heroin was recovered.
Accordingly, the accused has been booked in case FIR number 272/2023 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Akhnoor and further investigation started.
