SRINAGAR, Oct 11: The district team of Srinagar emerged victorious by defeating Budgam in the provincial-level football tournament here today.
The championship was hosted by District Youth Services and Sports Office Srinagar, The tournament was organised for girls of under-17 and 19 years. The team Srinagar beat Budgam by 6 goals to Nil in the final. Budgam made their best efforts but couldn’t score a single goal.
The competition in the same discipline for under-19 girls is scheduled from tomorrow at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar. The tournament is being played under the theme of ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ and the drug free Srinagar campaign.
Meanwhile, in another important activity of the day, all age groups participated in the Annual Athletic meet for Boys and Girls inter-school, District Level at S P College Ground Srinagar. Inter District, Provincial level softball tournament is also underway at Gindun Ground Rajbagh Srinagar in which six districts of Kashmir province are participating.
