JAMMU, Oct 14: Shivani Charak, an ace sport climber of Mountaineering Association of J&K, has retained her position as top ranked sport climber of India in combined lead climbing and Bouldering in Women’s category as per rankings issued by Indian Mountaineering Foundation, the apex body for adventure sports in the country, as per statement.
Two other sport climbers of J&K Ajay Deep Singh (now in Services team) and Arun Deep Singh also figure in the list of top 20 climbers of the country in combined lead climbing and bouldering. Whereas Ajay Deep is ranked 10th Arun Deep Singh has grabbed the 16th spot in the Men’s category.
Meanwhile, Shivani who has returned to Jammu after participation in the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou, China is now completely focused on the Olympics to be held next year in Paris, France and is gearing up for the Olympic Qualification event to be held in Indonesia, next month, the statement said.
