JAMMU, Oct 17: The 34th North Zone Junior Athletics Championship concluded at the newly laid down Synthetic Athletics track at Jammu University here today. About 1000 athletes and officials from nine States and Union Territories of North Zone took part in the championship both in Track and Field events.
Certificates and medals during the concluding functions were awarded by Jatinder Mishra, Deputy Director Department of Youth Services and Sports, Mohd. Hanief Chief Sports Officer J&K Sports Council and Sunil Kumar Sharma, Accounts Officer Department of Youth Services including many others were present during the event.
The championship was organized under the overall supervision of Sharat Chander Singh, Organizing Secretary of the championship. Hep Long Jump (Girls); Sonika (Haryana) and Kalpana(Haryana). 600gm Javelin throw (Girls); Saloni (Haryana), Aakriti (Delhi) and Sheetal (Delhi). 400m hurdles (Girls); Jyoti Rani (Uttar Pradesh), Himanshi (Delhi) and Ragini Singh (Uttar Pradesh). 400m hurdles (Girls), Riya (Delhi), Punya (Chandigarh) and Vaishnavi Sharma (Uttar Pradesh). Hep Long Jump (Girls); Yashasvi Bubey (Uttar Pradesh), Neeru (Haryana) and Jaskiran(Uttarakhand) ; 3kg Shot Put (Girls); ANSHU (Haryana), Jasmine Kaur(Punjab) and Harmanjeet Kaur (Chandigarh). High Jump (Boys); Nikhil Maurya (Uttar Pradesh), Hargunreet Singh Dhill (Punjab) and Nitik (Delhi). Triple Jump (Girls); Meenakshi (Delhi).
