PCC Pattan scripts narrow win over WCC

SRINAGAR, June 23: Pattan Cricket Club (PCC), Pattan registered a narrow win over Whites Cricket Club (WCC) to move into the next round of the ongoing SDA Drabu Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Players Association (JKCPA) at Tourist Reception Centre ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and electing to bat, PCC scored decent total of 152 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Sartaj was the top scorer with 40 runs in 36 balls, while Mudasir smashed quick-fire 25 off just 11 balls. Ayaz also contributed valuable 23 runs off 21 balls. For WCC, Waqar and Zaid bagged 2 wickets each, while Rakesh Koul and Ravi Pandita claimed one wicket apiece.
WCC, in reply, despite power-packed 31 runs off just 18 balls by Rakesh Koul, could manage to score only 142 runs in the allotted overs by losing 8 wickets, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 10 runs. Ravi Pandita played a sedate innings of 26 runs in 52 balls. Rakesh, though tried his level best to take his side home by playing a brisk knock, but that was not enough to pull off a victory. Salim and Basharat of Pattan Cricket Club wrecked havoc in the WCC camp by claiming 7 wickets between them. Salim captured 4 important wickets, while Basharat scalped 3 wickets.
