JAMMU, Oct 17: The two day long J&K-UT Bench Press Championship unequipped and equipped Sub Junior, Junior, Senior & Master (Men & Women) concluded at Guru Ravi Dass Sabha near Bahu Fort, here today. The championship was organized by All J&K-UT Powerlifting Association under the banner of Powerlifting India.
Sham Lal Bassan, Corporator Bahu Fort was chief guest and SHO Arti Thakur was the special guest on the occasion who distributed prizes among the winner and runner up players.
In this Championship Rubam Sharma, Amandeep Bassan & Ritu Charak won best lifter in Senior unequipped & equipped while, Tarandeep Singh, Anurag Magotra and Menu Kalotra won best lifter award in Junior unequipped & equipped, Suraj Singh, & Tania Sharma won best lifter in Sub Junior unequipped & equipped, Bimal Indu Sharma, Umesh Raina, Parveen Kumar & Rakhi Grover won best lifter in Master I & II Category. In this championship 180 players participated from different districts of J&K-UT such as Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Poonch, Reasi, Kishtwar, Poonch, Budgam, Srinagar, Baramulla and Ramban.
Rubam Sharma, Vickramjeet Singh and Amandeep Bassan created new records for Jammu and Kashmir in the unequipped and equipped bench press championship breaking the previous record of 105 kg, + 120 kg, 93 kg, category by lifting 200kg, 215 kg &240 kg, respectively.
Yatiksha Rao, Tania Sharma, Arshia Rajput, Riya Mahajan, Kusum Lata, Ritika Singh, Ritu Charak, Rakhi Grover, Shikha Rani, Priya Raina & Meenu Kalotra among the winners in women category who won gold medal.
Silver medallists were Konika, Preeti Sharma and Tammana. In men’s category gold medallists were Rohit Kumar, Aryan Bhagat, Vasu Kumar, Rudar Langer, Sant Kumar, Anshu Sharma, Roshan lal, Nittin Sharma, Aditya Sharma, Nikhil Manhas, Uzair Mattoo, Shubham Kalotra, Rajat Lakhotra and Satyajeet.
