Inter-Collegiate Archery C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Oct 25: The Inter-Collegiate Archery (M&W) Championship 2023-24 organized by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu at University Sports Stadium concluded here today. The final trophy was clinched by GDC Kakryal by securing 110 points and runner up was GDC, Samba by securing 93 points.
The final results in the 30-meter distance (Boys) individual were Vishal, GDC, Katra (Gold), Milad Mehdi (Silver) and Akash (Bronze). The 30-meter distance (Boys) team results were GDC, Katra (Abhay, Pankaj, Vishal) (Gold), GDC Samba (Sachin, Aditya, Akash) (Silver) and GDC Paloura (Sunil, Arun, Arif, Anil) Bronze.
In Compound Division 70 meter Pankaj, GDC, Katra won Gold medal. Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion and awarded the winning trophy to the overall championship winning team GDC, Kakryal. The prominent among others who were present during the Championship were Dr. Rudra Koul, Vimal Kishore, Jai Bharat, Padam Dev Singh & Inderjeet Singh. The overall Archery (M&W) Championship 2023-24 was conducted under the supervision of Jai Bharat.
Meanwhile, Inter-Collegiate Yoga Championship for men was organized by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu in which Government Degree College, Paloura bagged 1st position while 2nd & 3rd positions were clinched by PG Department, University of Jammu and GCET, Jammu respectively besides in individual category, the 1st position was won by Sahil, GDC, Paloura.  Whereas 2nd & 3rd positions were secured by Baljinder Singh GCET and Akarsh, GDC, Bishnah respectively.
The matches were officiated by a technical panel of experts including Sanjeev Kumar Pandey, Anil Gupta, Mukesh, Anil Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, Deepti and Harinderpal Singh.
