JAMMU, Oct 27: On the eve of International Girl Child Day G.S Sports Club organized an Inter-School Competition at R.M Public School Chowadi here today. Theme of the program was to empower ‘Nari Shakti’. SSP Mohan Lal Bhagat, Staff Officer to ADGP Railways was the Chief Guest, Dr. Sunniya Wani, DySP Headquarters was the guest of honour on this occasion.
DySP Sunniya Wani appreciated the role of GS Sports Club for empowering girls and organising such events which gives them the platform to showcase their hidden talent. She encouraged the girl students to come forward to lead the society.
Chief Guest Mohan Lal Bhagat appreciated the management and the staff of R.M Public School and team of G.S Sports Club and its team for organizing such inspiring sports meet for various schools.
He apprised the girls that women players have contributed a major share in the medals tally of Asian Games. He said that today women are leading in every field. He said the upcoming era in the world is of Bharat and it’s the women who will make their maximum contribution for that.
Chairman R.M Public School, Rameshwar Mengi, who also presided over the function, urged the students to stay physically fit, work hard to pursue their aims and play an important role in nation building. Meanwhile Kabaddi tournament was won by Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School Gandhi Nagar whereas Kho-Kho was won by R.M Public School Chowadi.
