8th District Badminton C’ship concludes

SAMBA, Oct 29: The 8th District Badminton Championship concluded here today. The competition was organized by District Samba Badminton Association in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council. Around 100 players from across the district participated in the competition.
Shivang won the final in the 15 years age group, while Mrigna won in the girls’ 15 years age group, Shivansh won the finals in the 19 years age group (Boys), in the girls’ 19 years age group Tulsi won the final, Raghav won in the open category and Akash and Nirmal were victorious in the doubles and in the end there was a competition among the players of age 50 category in which Sandeep and Ajay won the trophy.
District Development Council Chairman Keshav Dutt Sharma honoured the winner and runner-up players. In his address, he said that such competitions should be held continuously so that local players can be given a platform to hone their talent.
Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Badminton Association, Dr. O.D. Sharma, District Badminton Association President Jai Ram Sharma, Sandeep Sambyal, Ram Krishan, Raju Sharma, Naresh Singh, Vishal Dubey, Ajatshatru Singh, apart from this a large number of players, technical officers and other guests were also present.
