LEH, Oct 29: Two individuals were arrested with illicit liquor from Choglamsar area here, police said today.
They said information was received at Police Post Choglamsar on the intervening nights of October 26 and 27, 2023 that a rented house near CIBS School in Choglamsar was being used for storing illegal liquor with the intent to sell it to the public.
Following the information, police said, a team of officers conducted thorough search of the premises and seized 165 cans of beer and 41 bottles of rum from two individuals.
They have been identified as Laxmi Gahatraj Sunar wife of Santosh Sunar and June BK Nagar Koto of Nepal.
The duo has been accordingly booked in case FIR number 186/2023 under section 48(a) of the Excise Act registered at Police Station Leh and further investigation started.
