POONCH, Nov 3: As a part of Poonch Link Up Day 2023, a thrilling paragliding camp was organized in Poonch here today. The camp, which was set up at Gulpur Ajote, witnessed the participation of enthusiastic locals and visitors from all over the district.
Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary and with the support of the 93 Infantry Brigade Poonch, experienced pilots from Dhauladhar Sky Sports in Bir Billing, Himachal Pradesh, successfully conducted multiple tandem flights from Ajote Hilltop to Gulpur ground. This exhilarating event marked the commencement of a three-day paragliding trail, which will continue until November 5.
The district administration, led by Deputy Commissioner Yasin M. Choudhary, has been actively promoting adventure activities in Poonch with the aim of attracting tourists from all corners of the country and beyond. Deputy Commissioner extended his appreciation to the district administration and the Indian Army for their unwavering support in making the paragliding camp a resounding success.
He emphasized that the administration would continue its efforts to commercialize adventure activities such as river rafting, cycling on Mughal Road, winter games and reiterated the commitment to make the paragliding camp an annual event. By doing so, the district aims to encourage both locals and tourists to explore the beauty of Poonch while indulging in thrilling adventures.
