APS Udhampur celebrates Annual Day

UDHAMPUR, Nov 8: Army Public School, Udhampur celebrated its Annual Day here today with the theme “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”. The event was a myriad of celebrations replete with music, dazzling dances and hues of colours amidst great splendor, vibrancy and resplendence exhibiting the theme.
Major General Navraj Dhillon, GOC 71 Sub- area & Patron APS Udhampur, Major General Avinash Das, Commandant Command Hospital, Northern Command and Joginder Singh, SSP Udhampur graced the occasion as the esteemed Chief Guests for three days. Kiran Kotwal, Mother of Martyr Major Shatrujeet Singh Kotwal and his wife Aabha Kotwal alongwith his son, were the guests of honour for the occasion.
Manika Sharma and Ayushi Aabha Sharma from class 12th and Ayushman Dwivedi from class 10th have been awarded with Pachauri Medal, a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and certificate for best performance in the board exams. Those who scored more than 90% marks in the board exams were honored with Rs 5,000 along with a certificate. NCC cadet Aranya Sharma was awarded with a cash prize along with a certificate for her excellent performance in NCC.
Prabhdeep Singh, a student of class IX who won the gold medal by defeating the three-time world champion German player in the under-23 age group in the fifth Tennikoit World Cup held in South Africa, was also specially honored and was given a certificate along with a cash prize.
Reena Sharma, Vice Principal APS Udhampur urged the students to hone and sharpen their talents and potentials to carve a niche for the nation. She opined that Education is incomplete without keeping in view the goal of serving one’s own country.
