JAMMU, Jan 19: First Lakhan Singh Chib (Tunna) Memorial Cricket Tournament commenced at village Chack Jaffer, here today.
Anil Gupta, President, JKDF, who was the chief guest on the occasion, inaugurated the tournament.
Three matches were played on the first day of the tournament. In the first match of the tournament, Gole Gujral Camp team trounced Dabey (Jhiri) by 20 runs. They set a target 0f 137 runs by losing seven wickets. The second match was played between Chack Jaffer and Jewel Chand Nagar. Chack Jaffer team defeated Chand Nagar team by 15 runs. The Chack Jaffer team set a target of 137 runs. While chasing the target of 137 runs, Jewel Chand Nagar team was bowled at 122 runs. Sunny of Chack Jaffer team was announced as the ‘Man of the Match’. He scored 44 runs and took 3 wickets.
Later, in the third match, Bachyal team trounced Channu Chack by six wickets.
