Srinagar, Jan 21: Police claimed to have recovered huge quantity of cannabis in three separate raids in Awantipora area on Monday evening.
A police spokesman said they have recovered 12.5kg cannabis from the houses of Reyaz Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Nabi of Bargam, Abdul Ahad Tantray son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din of Harpora and 2.5 Kgs of cannabis was recovered from a poultry farm of Mehraj-u-din Lone son of Ali Mohammad of Bonpora Bargam in Awantipora area of Pulwama district.
Police has registered cases under FIR No.05/2014, 06/2014 and 07/2014 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act in the incidnet.
“All the three accused persons have been arrested and are being questioned. Investigation of these cases is going on and more recoveries and arrests are expected,” the spokesman said.
