JAMMU, Jan 22: Rishi Kilam, a social and political activist and chairman, Educational Scenario, has expressed grave concern over functioning of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), saying it is paying no heed towards the basic needs of the people, particularly of old Karan Nagar.
In a meeting held here, the activist said that roads and drains in old Karan Nagar, once a posh colony, are in bad conditions. Moreover, many places in the area have been encroached upon by the residents while extending their gates and entrances due to which it has become difficult for the people to drive their vehicles, he added.
The activist said it is shocking that JMC has totally neglected the posh area, when the Commissioner, Kiran Wattal is himself a resident of the same locality.
He criticized the JMC for paying no attention towards the basic needs of the people.
