JAMMU, Dec 2: Director General of Police (DGP), J&K, RR Swain today said that the entire Police Pariwar is committed to take care of the welfare of the families of the fallen heroes of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
He stated this while chairing a meeting of the police officers here to review the efforts of police in reaching out to the families of the police martyrs.
During the meeting, the DGP told the officers: “put your heart and soul together to identify the issues and problems, if any, being faced by the families of the JKP martyrs and tell police headquarters about these grievances in a stipulated time period.”
A statement said that the virtual meeting was attended by ADGP Armed/IR J&K, SJM Gillani; IGP Kashmir/Armed, VK Birdi, DIGs Shahid Mehraj, Abdul Qayoom, all commandants, deputy commandants of Kashmir Zone besides other officers.
The DGP said that the fallen heroes and their families are part of Jammu and Kashmir Police Pariwar “and we’re duty bound to take care of their families in every respect.”
“It has to be our primary responsibility to see how these families are doing and what else could be done for their overall welfare,” he said.
The DGP directed the ADGP Armed, J&K to send emphatic officers to connect with the families of the martyrs. He also directed for adoption of a family by individual police officer so that an emotional bond is created between the martyr families and the officers.
The DGP also directed for preparing the inspiring stories of J&K Police martyrs.
“It is not the help and assistance that matters but connecting with these families including the parents of the fallen heroes is more important,” the DGP said.
During the meeting, discussions were held on a comprehensive plan executed under which DySP/Inspectors will visit the families of the martyrs to know about their welfare.
The officers gave various suggestions which were underlined and directions were passed for their execution.
