46th Stag J&K-UT TT C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Dec 5: A four day long 46th Stag J&K-UT Table Tennis Championships 2023 concluded here today. Pratham Raina lifted men’s, under-17 and under-19 titles whereas Mishti hit a double Jackpot by claiming under-17 and women title.
Pratham Raina defeated Maanay Mansotra by 3-2 in the finals of the Men’s Singles, whereas Mishti Aggarwal emerged winner in Women’s final defeating Nitya Arora by 3 games to 1. The Men’s final was a nail biting contest with both the players giving all they had but Pratham raina closing on the final game in style after Maanay blazed pass the first two games in a matter of time to take the match and championship by 3-2.
Nuzhat Gull, Secretary J&K Sports Council was chief guest on the closing ceremony who also witnessed final match and distributed the prizes amongst the winners. The chief guest also appreciated the organisers for a successful tournament where more than 300 participants took part and hailed the sportsman spirit and the efforts put in by the players.
The final results were in Hops Boys Final (Under-11) Saiyam beat Ahaan by 3-0, Hopes Girls Final (Under 11), Alina beat Syrah by 3-1, Cadet Boys Final Saiyam beat Ahaan by 3-0, Cadet Girls Final Myrah beat Gunjan by 3-0, Sub Junior Boys Final, Ritvik beat Samarth by 3-0, Sub Junior Girls Final, Nitya beat Arushika by 3-0, Junior Girls Final (U-17) Mishti bt Nitya by 3-1, Junior (Under 17) Boys Final, Pratham beat Ritvik by 3-1, Junior ((Under 19) Boys, Pratham beat Ritvik by 3-1. In Men’s Final Pratham beat Maanay by 3-2, in Women’s Final, Mishti beat Nitya by 3-1 and Veteran Men’s Final Amit beat Mahesh by 3-0.
Prominent among present were Satbir Singh, Rajan Sharma, I.P Singh, Satish Gupta, Ajay Sharma, Suraj Bhan (Manager Indoor Sports Complex), Saleem Bandey (Secretary Poonch District TT Association), Maninder Singh, Dr Ratnakar Sharma, Sanjay Gupta, Rajan Sharma, Vasu Dewan, Narinder Singh, Sheetal Gandotra and Meenu Rajesh.
