JAMMU, Dec 10: Dogri novel ‘Namit’ written by Inderjeet Kesar was released here today by Dogri Sanstha Jammu in a simple function organized at Kunwar Viyogi Auditorium, Karan Nagar.
Sunil Sethi, senior advocate was chief guest on the occasion while Om Goswami, an eminent litterateur was special guest whereas the book release function was presided over by Prof. Lalit Magotra, president of Dogri Sanstha, Jammu.
Inderjeet Kesar is an eminent name in Dogri literature and he has contributed a lot as a novelist, essayist and poet.
He has been awarded with prestigious Sahitya Academy Award for his novel ‘Bhagirath’ in 2018 and has more than 22 books to his credit.
Speaking on the occasion he shared his long journey as a writer.
Sunil Sethi in his address recalled the contributions made by Kesar for Dogri literature. He said that regular writing is not so easy but Inderjeet Kesar’s regular contributions as an established writer is an inspiration for others.
Om Goswami said that writing a novel demands something extra from novelist that has been ably proved by Inderjeet Kesar.
Prof. Lalit Magotra in his presidential address said that other writers should seek an inspiration from Inderjeet Kesar, who is so devoted and dedicated for writing with a mission of enriching Dogri literature with a book every year and this mission has been going on for many years.
Dr. Chanchal Bhasin presented a detailed paper on the novel.
The function was conducted by eminent theatre activist and Dogri poet, Pawan Verma and Dr. Chanchal Bhasin presented vote of thanks.
The function was attended in good number by Dogri litterateurs, literature lovers and family members of Inderjeet Kesar.
