Darshan Mahajan Memorial Badminton tourney

JAMMU, Dec 13: Quarterfinals, Semi-final and final matches in different categories were played in an ongoing Darshan Mahajan Memorial Badminton tournament here today.
The players from Akhnoor, Jakh, Ramnagar, Udhampur, Hiranagar, Nagrota, Planwala etc, showed exceptional performances beyond the expectation in this tournament, said Navneet Mahajan, President, Akhil Mahajan Badminton Club.
Results of some of the matches played today were Shrijus Sharma beat Antima Naruka in the under-17 finals of girls singles, Krishika Mahajan beat Antima Naruka in girls under-19 finals (singles), Suhani Sharma beat Yashaswini Pandho in girls under-15 semi-finals, Suhani and Gania beat Diamond and Yashaswani in girls doubles finals in under15, in under-19 boys doubles, Shauryaveer and Shourya Prathanm beat Aneesh and Shivansh, in under-11 finals of boys single final Vivan Singh Chib beat Utkarsh Bhau.
Among the others, Dr O. D. Sharma, Vice President, Badminton Association of India, (BAI), Subhash Sharma, Vice President, Badminton Association of J&K (BAJK) Balbir Singh Jamwal, General Secretary, (BAJK), Col. D. V. Sharma, General Secretary, Jammu City & District Badminton Association, Anil Gurkha, Pawanjit Singh, Sukhsev Singh and Divum Gupta were present on the occasion.
