JAMMU, Dec 18: The third group of around 144 students from Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Bantalab, Jammu, participated in a one-day short trek series program in the Mansar-Mohoregarh area here today.
Sonam Sidharth, a senior member of Tawi Trekkers J&K led the group of budding trekkers along with trained climbers Abhimanyu Sherpa, Vikas Singh, Prerna Charak and Ananjan Raghav Khajuria. Seven teachers of the school led by Neha Sharma also escorted the budding trekkers who were on their maiden adventure to explore and enjoy nature.
After a sumptuous breakfast at Mansar the budding young trekkers who were on their maiden trek enjoyed the main attraction, a soft trek of about 4kms in the Mansar- Mohoregarh area and were thrilled to have a panoramic view of the serene lake. Back at Mansar, they visited the local zoo, maintained by the department of WildLife Protection, where they saw many beautiful birds and wild animals and learnt about their habitat and their behaviour.
The statement said main aim of “One Day Short Treks Series Programme” in which about 2000 boys and girls are expected to participate is to “Catch Them Young” and imbibe in the young minds a spirit of adventure, love for nature and above all a supreme sense of self confidence so as to mould them into bold and responsible future leaders/ builders of the country.
