Open Jammu Taekwondo C’ship concludes; Jammu lifts trophy

JAMMU, Dec 20: The Open Jammu Taekwondo Championship which was held at Indoor Sports Hall, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu concluded here today. The event was organized by the J&K Taekwondo Association under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI) and J&K Sports Council (JKSC).
More than 400 players took part from various schools and clubs. The medallists of the event will have a chance to represent J&K, UT in the upcoming Open National Taekwondo Championships 2023 at Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Nuzhat Gull, Secretary, J&K Sports Council was the chief guest on this occasion who distributed medals and trophies to the winners. Muzaffar Hussain Wani, Chief Sports Officer, JKSC and Vikas Gupta, vice president Judo Association were present there as a guest of honour.
The Championship was supported by many Coaches and national and international athletes including Chandeep Singh, Mukesh Okheda, Sidharth Sharma, Arun, Suresh Manhas, Latief Ahmed, Rakesh Singh, Rashmi Abrol, Bhanu Partap Singh, Jagpreet Kour, Vansh Rakwal, Pawan Kumar, Naresh Kumar, Satjeet Kumar, Kashif Iqbal and Sunil Kumar.
District Jammu lifted the winner-up trophy of the Open Jammu Taekwondo Championships 2023 while the runner-up trophy was bagged by district Doda, and 2nd Runner-Up Trophy was claimed by District Udhampur. The active participation award was given to District Poonch and KV 1 Gandhi Nagar School Jammu.
