Leaders condemn Poonch terror attack

JAMMU, Dec 21: Leaders of several political as well as other organizations today condemned martyrdom of at least four Army officials in a terror attack in Poonch district this afternoon.
In a joint statement, JKPCC leaders expressed their deep condolences to the families of the soldiers who lost their lives in the attack and prayed for the early recovery of the injured soldiers. Conveying deep sympathies with the bereaved families, the Party prayed for eternal peace to the souls of martyred soldiers besides prayed for early recovery of the injured. They expressed grave concern over the spurt in terror activities in the twin border districts and asked the Government to bring the situation under control.
Condemning the terror attack, the Apni Party provincial president Jammu and former minister Manjit Singh expressed grief over the martyrdom of four Army soldiers. In a statement, Manjit Singh expressed his concern over the martyrdom of the Indian Army soldiers. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of three injured soldiers in the terror attack. “The terrorists do not want a peaceful atmosphere in J&K and therefore, they carry out such subversive activities that need to be handled with iron fist,” he said, adding, the security forces should act tough against the terrorists and their network to ensure that the peaceful atmosphere is not disrupted.
Former general secretary of Jammu Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Gaurav Gupta expressed his deep sorrow and condolences over the martyrdom of four soldiers. “I am deeply saddened by the news of the martyrdom of our brave soldiers. They have made the ultimate sacrifice in service of our nation, and we are forever indebted to them. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten,” he said in a statement. Gaurav asserted that the martyrdom of the four soldiers is a stark reminder of the ongoing threat posed by terrorism.
