JAMMU, Dec 23: 17th J&K-UT Wushu Championship-2023 commenced here today at Indoor hall Bhagwati Nagar Jammu. Dr Ritesh, Principal Dental College Jammu and Manish Gupta were chief guests while Vijay Saraf, General Secretary Wushu Association of India and Bhavneet Joint Secretary were Guest of Honour.
Kuldeep Handoo briefed about the Wushu achievements of the year 2023-24 and about the event. Approximately 1300 players form 25 teams including 19 districts (Except Ramban), 5 Khelo India Centres and J&K Police team are taking part in the Championship.
Sub-Junior Boys and Girls under 5, 7 & 9 displayed their best to earn the yellow metal on the opening day. Dr Rakesh appreciated Wushu Association of J & K for providing platform to the youth. He said that soon he will organise a dental camp for the Wushu Athletes free of cost at Jammu.
