KATHUA, Dec 27: Two matches were played today in the 12th Police Martyr’s Memorial North Zone T-20 Cricket Championship 2023-24 at Sports Stadium Kathua.
First match was played between LB Shastri and Jalandhar Sports Club while second match was played between KKR Marheen and Haryana CA.
In the first match LB Shastri team won the toss and chose to bat first and scored 188 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. The main scorer of the team was Ankush Tyagi who scored 87 runs in 53 balls with 9 boundaries along with 4 sixes and Koushal Suman scored 44 runs of 32 balls with 07 boundaries and gave a toughest target of 189 runs to the opposition team.
While chasing the target of 189 runs Jalandhar Sports Club team was unable to chase down the given target and got all out on 84 runs in just 14.2. In this way LB Shastri Delhi team won this match by 104 runs. Ankush Tyagi was declared as Man of the Match for his 87 runs inning.
In the second match between KKR Marheen and Haryana CA the Haryana CA team won the toss and chose to bowl first, while batting first KKR Marheen put 175 runs on the scoreboard by the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. While chasing a target of 176 runs Haryana CA was unable to chase down the given target and scored just 146 runs in 20 overs on the loss of 09 wickets.
Therefore KKR Marheen team thrashed Haryana CA by 29 runs and won this match in which top scorer was Abhishek who scored 66 runs in 36 balls with the help of 12 boundaries for which he was declared as Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.
