JAMMU, Dec 29: With the outstanding display of skill and determination, female Gymnasts of the Gymnastics Academy of J&K Sports Council won five gold, one silver and two bronze medals in Junior National Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship held at Bengaluru.
The championship was held from December 26 to 29, 2023. Muskan Rana of J&K emerged as a standout performer, clinching prestigious ‘Best Gymnast’ title gold for the Union Territory of J&K.
The junior team comprised Jagriti Thakur & Vaibhavi Sharma, Muskan & Manya won one gold medal. While in the individual event Muskan Rana won three gold medals and one silver medal and Manya won one gold and one bronze for Jammu and Kashmir.
In the seniors category J&K Gymnastics team of Himani Gupta and Shivangi, Sneha Dewan and Viomini Dogra too performed well & managed to win Bronze medal in the team championships ahead of Maharashtra & Haryana.
The J&K Gymnastics team’s stellar performance was lauded by spectators and officials alike, with praises showered upon all the medallists for their outstanding efforts and commendable performances throughout the tournament.
The entire team showcased exemplary sportsmanship and determination, making their mark in Junior National championships. The victories and medals achieved serve as a testament to the relentless hard work and dedication of the J&K Gymnasts & their sincere coaches bringing immense pride to the Union Territory.
Er. Kiran Wattal, President Gymnastics Association of J&K lauded all selected Gymnasts and their Coaches for the outstanding performance. He also appreciated Secretary Sports Council Nuzhat Gull for providing support to the players and creation of a world class Gymnastics Academy.
